How to Use a Provincial Billing Code Cheatsheet
A billing cheatsheet is a short list of the codes you reach for most often. It is a memory aid, not a substitute for the official fee schedule. Used well, it saves time. Used as the only source of truth, it causes claim errors.
What a cheatsheet is good for
Most physicians bill a small set of codes the vast majority of the time. A good cheatsheet puts those codes, their plain-English descriptions, and current fees in one place so you are not paging through a 600-page schedule for a routine visit.

What a cheatsheet leaves out
A cheatsheet cannot capture every premium, restriction, and time-of-day modifier. Those rules live in the official schedule and change over time. Two examples:
- After-hours and emergency premiums that stack on top of a base code.
- Per-period limits on how often a given assessment can be billed.
Using it safely
Treat the cheatsheet as the starting point and the official schedule as the authority. Every cheatsheet on this site links to the official provincial source and shows the date the data was current. When in doubt, open the source and confirm before billing.
